What is Wimborne.ORG?
Wimborne.ORG is a local non-profit website which has a strong focus on the area around the towns of Wimborne Minster and Ferndown in Dorset, England. However the site also features other information which is of interest to a wider audience.

Where is Wimborne?
Wimborne or Wimborne Minster to provide it with it's correct name is located on the South coast of England not far from the towns of Bournemouth/Poole. The area is well known for it's natural beauty. I highly recommend visiting Images of Dorset (available from the main webpage) if you would like to see what the local area looks like.

Who runs Wimborne.ORG?
Wimborne.ORG is a non-profit "hobby" of a full-time computer professional, Richard L. James.

Why does Richard run Wimborne.ORG?
3 main reasons:
To provide something back to the community as many people have helped Richard in his life, to him it's nice to give something back.
Richard wanted to get to know his local area better (although he was born locally he has spent a lot of time living away from the area)
To provide a way to test out ideas/software, e.g. several ideas tested on Wimborne.ORG now exist in a commericial environment.

How do I get my site listed/added/removed?

Do you charge for listing a site?
No, a listing on Wimborne.ORG is 100% FREE.

What type of local sites does Wimborne.ORG list?
Most if NOT all. The only sites that won't be linked to are ones that are clearly illegal or sites that pretend to offer local information when only offering national information (this is increasing a trend...). Wimborne.ORG's webmaster, Richard set out with the aim of providing a proper all round community service by putting aside his own personal views. For example, there is at least one company listed that Richard will never do business with again due to a bad experience. Richard's bad experience was possibly a one off unfortunate event, therefore he feels that it would be totally unfair to that company not to list them based on his own personal views/thoughts. Therefore the company concerned is still listed regardless.

How do you find / check all of the websites listed?
Several ways:
